Campfires and Steaks

On monday (memorial day) Nate, Ethan, Diedre, and I went up in the mountains and cooked steaks over a campfire. They were so good but we forgot plates and forks so we had to eat them with our hands and teeth all hard core like.

After our steaks, we hung out and cooked some smores. I haven't had a smore in a while, and they were sooo good! Oh, yeah, and then we started talking about jumping over fires, so naturally, we all had to do it. Ethan didn't make it though. He's in the hospital as we speak about to get foot surgery on his scalded feet! JK, we all made it just fine.

Anyways, there you have it.
Another jolly good adventure in my years in Rexburg.

Look Alikes

I know I know, my sisters and I all look like each other. Well, there's only so many variations of blonde hair, blue eyes, and big thighs out there!

These are my look alike pictures. These are all me, but I think each one looks like one of my sisters. Let me know what you think:

Jet?

Andrea?

Suzanne?

Granted it's not identical, but pretty close eh? Trips me out anyway

The Pit List

So the Pit of Despair is turning out to be more pitty than we thought! I here's a list of things that are going wrong with our apartment:

-The walls are pealing
-The ceilings and door frames are low
(Nate has to duck to get into our living room)
-The floor is old, firm, and dirty
-Half of our outlets don't work
-Yellow stuff drips down the walls whenever a room gets steamy
(Like when we shower or cook)
-The fridge leaks huge puddles daily on the kitchen floor
-Our kitchen sink drains so slowly that I can't to dishes in it
(I use pots to hold bubbly water to wash them)
-Whenever our neighbors turn on their water, it floods our kitchen sink.
-We can't control the heat so it's always cold
-And sometimes when we come home, there'll be a creepy smell

I think that about sums it up

Don't worry, we're still as happy as can be. We're just happy we have an apartment at all (they're so hard to come by in Rexburg, unless you got a bunch of cash). It'll be fun to look back and know that we survived the Pit of Despair!

So because half of our outlets don't work, I don't have any working pugs in the bathroom. This becomes a problem when I try to do my hair in the mornings. Lately, I've just been braiding my hair to save hassle, and last week I tried to straighten it in my bedroom while running back and forth to the bathroom to check it in the mirror. That took forever and in the end, my hair was still wavy. I figure I can just pick up a mirror at the DI or something and then my problem will be solved.
But today me and Nate are going to the temple, so I wanted to do my hair. I had the genius idea to curl it in the living room and use my computer camera as my mirror in photobooth! This actually worked really well besides the fact that there is a slight delay in the computer's video camera so it was a bit trippy. Anyways, as I was doing this, I decided to take a picture while I was at it of how dorky I looked. So here you go.

Don't judge the way I do my hair. I haven't figured out a more efficient way yet, so I'll stick with my hair tie and mouth routine.

Anyways, have a great weekend and all that junk.

Oh, and I can't wait for Star Trek! We're seeing it tomorrow and I'm way excited!

The picnic that was no picnic

Why won't winter just give up already!? Last weekend Ethan, Diedre, Nate and I all went up to Mesa Falls to picnic. Little did we know that the mountains are still full of snow. The roads to the main falls were completely blocked with snow, but we were able to find an overlook of the little falls (which were still awesome).

Although it was cold, and we didn't get to picnic where we wanted, the food was amazing! This was no wimpy man's picnic! We had chicken, potato salad, parfait, apple pie, and cranberry juice!

On the way home, Ethan got to show off his mad driving skills as he drove uphill on a snow packed road in a little car. Overall, I think it was a blast, but we defiantly plan on doing it right once the snow melts.

The Start of Kate and Nate

Nate married me! It was a hot day on December 30th 2008, so it was "Kate and Nate in 2008" which you  must admit is rather precious. Life since we got married as been pretty much smooth sailing so far, though I suppose it's only been 4 months so I guess you might say we're still in the honeymoon stage. Life is good in the Mower crib. We're pretty much just working, schooling, and playing. We just moved into a small dark cramped ugly basement which we refer to as the pit of despair. It's actually kinda romantic being a newlywed living in meager conditions. Anyway, that's all for now. I'd better get going cuz Nate, Ethan, Diedre, and I are going on a picnic in Mesa Falls today! The weather forecast says rainy, so this could be interesting. Peace Out.
